Sinkhole shuts down runway at LaGuardia International Airport

A sinkhole has shut down one of many runways at LaGuardia International Airport in New York City, prompting cancellations and delays, in keeping with officers.

Crews discovered the sinkhole round 11 am on Wednesday, whereas conducting a day by day morning inspection of the airport’s airfield, in keeping with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The airport is presently beneath a floor delay, with flights departing to LaGuardia delayed a mean of 98 minutes.

According to FlightAware, there are presently 197 cancellations into and out of LGA, and 168 delays.
