Nathan Ordez on LAFC: “When we lose two games, it’s a big problem”

Forward Nathan Ordaz says the workforce’s struggles are being overstated and insists LAFC stays one of many strongest squads within the league.
Ordaz on LAFC’s tough patch
“Yeah, I think the last few games haven’t been good for us,” Ordaz stated when requested concerning the 4–1 house loss to Houston final weekend. “We’re just trying to shake off a couple of bad results and get back to playing our game — staying positive and getting back to winning. “We’re still near the top of the table, so it’s not like we’re in trouble.”
He added that shedding two straight should not be handled like a disaster: “When we lose two games, it becomes a big deal, but a lot of teams lose two games. It’s not the end of the world. We just hold ourselves to a higher standard. We’re going to try to improve and get back on track.”
Ordaz also emphasized that LAFC’s losses usually come from self-inflicted mistakesnot because opponents are superior: “We always see ourselves as the best team. Even when we lose, we know it was probably something we did wrongnot something the other team did better. It just wasn’t our dayand we have to be better next time.”
What another loss could mean
LAFC heads into Wednesday night’s matchup against St. Louis City SC at Energizer Park after suffering consecutive defeats for the first time in nearly a year — the last time was during the FIFA Club World Cup in June 2025 (3 a.m. ET kickoff).
LAFC has never lost to St. Louisholding a dominant record of 5 wins and 2 draws. But a third straight defeat could raise questions about Marc Dos Santos’ future in his first season as LAFC’s head coach.
