Minnesota Wild without Eriksson Ek, Brodin to start Round 2

DENVER — The Minnesota Wild might be without ahead Joel Eriksson and defenseman Jonas Brodin for the primary two video games of their second-round collection towards the Colorado Avalanche due to lower-body accidents.

Neither participant made the journey to Denver. Wild coach John Hynes mentioned the group remains to be “making a couple decisions on the lineup” forward of Game 1 on Sunday evening.

The Avalanche might be without defenseman Josh Mansonwho missed the collection clincher towards the Los Angeles Kings final Sunday with an upper-body harm. Avs coach Jared Bednar mentioned Nick Blankenburg will slide into Manson’s place. The group acquired Blankenburg in a cope with Nashville on March 4.

“He’s played good in the time he’s been with us,” Bednar mentioned. “We got him for a reason — like the way he moves, like the way he moves the puck. He plays with a little bite. He’s got to stay within himself. It’s going to be a challenge for him tonight, because the thing we’ll miss with [Manson] is the size, the strength, the physicality.”

Eriksson Ek had three targets and two assists within the Wild’s first-round collection win over Dallas. I’ve completed with a 56.4% faceoff win fee. Danila Yurov and Hunter Haight might be prospects to take Eriksson Ek’s place.

“Ekky’s a big part of the team,” Hynes mentioned. (*2*)

Brodin did not play in Game 6 towards Dallas.

Hynes mentioned given the break between Games 2 and three — the groups play Tuesday and never once more till Saturday — that “both those guys will be reevaluated and see where it goes from there.”
