Governor accused of links to drug trafficking resigns
The governor of the Mexican state of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, has introduced that he’s going to request a “temporary leave” from his place.
The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) of Mexico goes to begin an investigation for the US accusations towards him and 9 different officers for alleged links to drug trafficking and possession of weapons.
“Today I presented to the State Congress the request for a temporary license to the position of governor, while the investigation process lasts. I do so from my deep Republican conviction. I also do the above with the purpose of facilitating the actions of the Mexican authorities in the aforementioned investigation process,” mentioned Rocha Moya in a video revealed on social networks.
“Clear conscience”
In the center of political earthquake between each international locations, the governor of the ruling celebration reiterated that the accusations towards him are “false and malicious accusations.” In that sense, he assured that he has a “clear conscience” and that it’s his “work life” that helps his statements.
“I am not going to allow myself to be used to harm the movement to which I belong and that has changed the lives of millions of Mexicans for the better,” he said when referring to the National Regeneration Movement (Brunette), based by former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
