Former Panthers WR announces retirement from NFL at 29 years old
A former Carolina Panthers cross catcher is hanging up his gloves.
Wideout DJ Chark introduced his retirement from the NFL on Friday. The 29-year-old receiver, who performed considered one of his seven NFL seasons with the Panthers, posted the next on Instagram this night:
Chark, an Alexandria, La. native and Louisiana State University product, was chosen by the (*29*) Jaguars within the second spherical of the 2018 NFL Draft. He’d spend his first 4 professional campaigns there, amassing 147 receptions for two,042 yards and 15 touchdowns over 43 video games.

Following a one-year stint for the Detroit Lions in 2022, Chark signed with the Panthers within the offseason of 2023. He ended up beginning in 11 of his 15 outings for Carolina, recording 35 catches for 525 yards and 5 touchdowns.
