The Sixers dominated Joel Embiid out with an illness Thursday afternoon for his or her high-stakes matchup that evening with the Rockets.

The 43-36 Sixers sit eighth within the Eastern Conference standings forward of Thursday’s recreation against the 50-29 Rockets. Their odds of finishing in the East’s top six and avoiding the play-in tournament would take a severe hit with a loss to Houston.
