Pease Park troll in Austin burns down
The troll that after resided on the south aspect of Pease Park has burned to the bottom.
The explanation for the hearth is just not but identified.

The troll, Malin, was installed in 2024 by Finnish artist Thomas Dambo with the assistance of 150 Austin-based volunteers. The set up, which price round $300,000, used virtually fully recycled supplies.
Malin was a feminine troll holding a bowl. The 18-foot-tall construction was constructed to remind neighborhood members “that we should share water and resources with the animals that live here with us,” in accordance with the Pease Park Conservancy.
This is not the primary time one in every of Dambo’s trolls has burned down. A troll put in at The Giants of Mandurah exhibit in Australia was lit on fire by vandals in 2022. In 2023, Dambo replaced the statue with a new troll.
