‘Hacks’ Stars Hannah Einbinder & Jesse McCartney Break Down Ava’s Surprise Party

McCartney confirms that when he found Einbinder was a fan, “My wife and I binged Season 1, and we quickly became huge fans of the show. Then a friend of mine said, ‘You need to rewatch one of the episodes. There’s a poster of you in Ava’s bedroom,’ and I didn’t catch it the first time. So I went back and saw it and decided I would DM Hannah, and I didn’t know her at the time, but I thought it was too specific to be an accident. I just had this feeling that maybe she would have something to do with that.”

What unfolded, McCartney reveals, is “She informed me she grew up an enormous fan, she had even been to considered one of my reveals as a child, and when the producers requested her who can be on Ava’s bed room wall, she mentioned it might be me. So I mentioned, ‘Thank you, that is superb. Also, if there’s something you ever wish to work on collectively, let me know.’ And then 5 seasons later, she and the producers reached out and requested if I’d be part of the present, and it was such a pleasant second; “I jumped at the opportunity.”

Einbinder sings McCartney’s praises as nicely, saying, “He is fabulous and a sweet guy, and I love him, and in a time where many of my heroes have disappointed me, Jesse McCartney has not.
