Eagles, Jalen Carter agree to extension reportedly worth up to $160M, making him highest paid DT in NFL
The Philadelphia Eagles and All-Pro defensive deal with Jalen Carter have agreed to a profitable contract extension.
The Eagles announce the deal on Tuesday. By ESPN’s Adam Schefterthe extension is for 4 years and $152 million with $106 million assured and escalators that would push it to $160 million. The contract makes him the highest paid defensive deal with in the NFL.

The deal kicks in in 2028 and retains Carter below contract with the Eagles by means of the 2031 season. The two sides received it finished with two years remaining on his rookie contract, together with his fifth-year possibility for 2027 valued at $27.1 million.
Carter, 25, was the No. 9 choose in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Georgia. He was runner-up for Rookie of the Year in 2023. He’s been named to the Pro Bowl in each seasons since and was named second-team All-Pro in 2024, the season the Eagles received the Super Bowl.
