Aviators head coach charged with DUI ahead of match in Dallas
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A former Ohio State Buckeye and present Columbus Aviators head coach has been charged with driving whereas intoxicated in Tarrant County, Texas.
Ted Ginn Jr. has posted a $1000 bond and has since been launched.
A spokesperson with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with ABC 6 he was arrested by the Euless Police Department and booked round 3:30 pm Saturday.
Ginn is meant to coach the aviators Sunday in opposition to Dallas at midday.
ABC 6 has contacted the Aviators and the United Football League in regards to the cost.
“We are aware of an incident involving Head Coach Ted Ginn Jr. over the weekend and are in the process of gathering more information,” said UFL president & CEO Russ Brandon, regarding the incident, in a statement to our newsroom. “Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley will handle the head coaching duties for the Aviators game on Sunday.”
