Arrest made in Athens triple shooting that killed Clayton Adams

ATHENS-CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. – A person is in custody after a Saturday morning triple shooting in Athens killed a 22-year-old man and left two others in important situation, in line with police.

What we all know:

The Athens Police Department stated officers responded to the 400 block of North Jackson round 2:20 a.m. When they arrived on the scene, they discovered three victims.

One individual was already deceased, and the opposite two have been rushed to the hospital.

Officers stated one of many victims taken to the hospital is just not anticipated to dwell, and the opposite stays in important situation.

Police recognized the deceased sufferer as Clayton Adams, 22, of Hull. FOX 5’s Larry Spruill spoke with the household who gave us his image.

The different two victims are in their early twenties, in line with police. None of the three victims had connections to the University of Georgia.

Around 6 pm, Athens police introduced officers had arrested Mark Desousa, 22, of Jefferson for the shooting. He has been charged with malice homicide, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.

What they’re saying:

Adams’ brother stated he can’t imagine his brother was shot and killed.

“I am in shock, really, just can’t wrap my head around this right now,” he stated. “He was my best friend, honestly. I just can’t believe someone would do anything to him.”

Adams’ household stated one of many different victims was buddies with Adams. The household stated they have been informed the opposite man was shot in the top.
