John Kerry talks with Stephen Colbert about Iran war, Kash Patel
“Are those the best ways to negotiate?” Colbert responded. “If you start with an act of war, is that the best way to start a peace talk?”
“No, obviously not,” Kerry stated. “No, I think what he’s doing now is challenging the validity of his FIFA World Peace Prize.” (Cue chortle monitor)
Colbert additionally requested Kerry about Trump’s comment, made throughout an interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” that he would have received the Vietnam War “very quickly”if he had been president on the time.
“Don’t you discover that ironic? That the one man who might have received the battle could not go as a result of he had bone spurs?” Colbert requested Kerry, who served two tours in Vietnamreceiving three Purple Hearts.
Referencing the weird AI-generated photo Trump recently posted that depicted him as Jesus, Kerry stated he supposes something is feasible.
“I presume if he’s Jesus, he could cure his bone spurs and go fight the war and win all by himself,” he said.
Meanwhile, Seth Meyers noted that Patel, the embattled FBI director, has responded to the Atlantic story by filing a lawsuit against the magazine.
“Kash Patel filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The Atlantic magazine over an article alleging that Patel has abused alcohol. Said Patel this morning, ‘Oh man, I did?’
“You’d have to be pretty drunk to think a print magazine can afford $250 million,” Meyers stated.
