Serah Williams Selected by Connecticut Sun at the 2026 WNBA Draft
NEW YORK – UConn ladies’s basketball senior Serah Williams was chosen with the 33rd general decide in the third spherical of the 2026 WNBA Draft on Monday at The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City.
Williams is UConn’s 52n.d. WNBA faculty draft choice since the league’s inception in 1997.
graduate pupil Azzi Fudd was chosen with the No. 1 general decide by the Dallas Wings earlier Monday.
This is the 18th time a number of Huskies have been taken in the similar draft.
In her one season in Storrs, Williams instantly joined the beginning lineup and received her first common season and convention championships and appeared in her first NCAA Tournament and Final Four.
Williams completed his collegiate profession with 1,748 factors, 951 rebounds and 262 blocks. She was the 2024 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a two-time All-Big Ten First Team and All-Defensive Team choice.
Williams joins UConn aums Aaliyah Edwards and Olivia Nelson-Ododa on the Sun roster. Fellow UConn alumna Morgan Tuck is the common supervisor of the group.
