One-year nursing degree coming to UNI this August | News
[CEDAR FALLS, Iowa] — Students on the University of Northern Iowa will start enrolling in a brand new accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program this fall.
The program will formally launch in August after being accepted final November. It’s designed for college students to end their levels in only one yr.
UNI says this system will assist Iowa’s rising demand for nurses. The program presents college students $19,000 in tuition, which is decrease than what comparable packages supply within the area.
Students accepted from bordering states will obtain in-state tuition.
“The accelerated program is designed for individuals who have a degree in another field and who are seeking a career change,” mentioned Nancy Kertz, UNI Department of Nursing and Public Health Chief Academic Nurse Administrator. “It’s also designed for individuals who have a large number of credit in which they can enter into the nursing program and quickly finish the BSN.”
Leaders inform college students will prepare in UNI’s newly accomplished nursing facility. That facility has simulation areas to deal with trauma, crucial care, pediatric care and labor and supply practices.
