Tornado cleanup continues in Cream, WI


CREAM, Wis. (WEAU) – In Cream, WI, household and buddies have been working onerous since yesterday to scrub up the destruction of 1 household’s dwelling.

While nobody was injured, the devastation was simple.

Kevin Glander, father of one of many householders, mentioned he remembers when he came upon his daughter’s dwelling had been destroyed.

“My daughter had called me, she’s very upset and crying,” Glander mentioned. “She said, ‘Dad, the neighbor just called and said our house has been leveled.’”

Friday night time, neighborhood members jumped in to assist clear up the twister’s wake. That effort started once more Saturday morning at 9 am

“Today is day two. A lot of people reached out — ‘How can we help you? What do you need?’ and that’s awesome. That’s great,” Glander said.

In addition to donations of food and water for the cleanup, community members have jumped in wherever they can, whether it’s raking up debris, clearing out the house or using the heavy machinery.

“Yesterday we had over 50 folks right here. Today, we’re doing fairly near that proper now,” Glander said. “It’s simply because folks care. I actually suppose in this world, typically, folks do not care. But I believe in this neighborhood, they do care.”

Buffalo County also suffered several outages in the area, according to Xcel Energy.

But Buffalo is not alone. Trempealeau County and Jackson County were also damaged in Friday’s tornadoes.

Glander mentioned he hopes the neighborhood help will proceed in the times, and months, forward.
