Tom Selleck Reveals ‘Blue Bloods’ Pay Cuts Meant to Save the Show
Tom Selleck is talking out once more about the “frustrating” Blue Bloods cancellation, this time highlighting the undeniable fact that he and his prices took massive pay cuts for Season 14 to assist alleviate prices, a transfer they had been keen to make once more to maintain the present operating. Selleck mentioned Blue Bloods‘ cancellation in an interview with Ted Danson on his podcast referred to as Where Everybody Knows Your Name.
“Blue Bloods was a labor of love… I think for everybody,” Selleck informed Danson. He starred in the CBS household drama alongside Donnie Wahlberg. Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariouand extra, and everybody was dedicated to returning for one more season, in accordance to Selleck.
“The real truth to that is, in the last year of [Blue Bloods]at our last family dinner, everyone wanted to come back. We’d already taken a 25 percent cut in salary,” Selleck shared with Danson. “We’d already done all sorts of things to keep the show going.”

“It was very frustrating because… out of the top 100 shows on broadcast television, Blue Bloods was number six in our fifteenth year,” Selleck continued. “Nobody wanted to leave. Everybody was gonna stay on. That’s hard to get. It may be some kind of record to have the same cast intact for that length of time. Usually, if it wasn’t a family, it would be different, but you couldn’t very well replace Jamie or Danny or anybody with another actor.”

According to Selleck, all of them wished to proceed engaged on Blue Bloods as a result of all of them nonetheless loved working collectively; they did not need to give that up.

“We’ve been speaking about Mr. Selleck for a very long time,” Martin-Green informed Woman’s World. “He is at all times getting requested, and as Donnie at all times says, the door’s open. We would love to have him and we’ll be sure that the story is excellent as a result of Tom is so adamant about the story, as he needs to be and as all of us needs to be. I feel it will be nice if we will have him, and I’m excited for no matter story it finally ends up being if he does come.”
