MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – This week’s rainfall has left components of our area with high water.

Main Street in Rutland was closed Wednesday morning due to the water.

Some bigger automobiles have been in a position to slowly make it down the roadway.

As security officers say throughout these high-water conditions, “turn around—don’t drown.”

Vinton County Emergency Management Director Bill Faught spoke about Wednesday’s conditions.

“We’ve actually had two calls this morning where we — they actually got them out before we got water rescue there — but we’ve had two water rescue calls because of folks driving out in high water,” Faught stated. “Driving through any water is very, very dangerous.”

Some neighbors in the Rutland space have been additionally coping with high water in their yards.
