Possible armed suspect leads to heavy law enforcement presence near Legacy High School

LAS VEGAS (KSNV)— An incident involving a probably armed suspect led to a heavy police presence near a North Las Vegas highschool on Thursday.

North Las Vegas Police stated they responded to the realm near Legacy High School, at Deer Springs Way and Goldfield Street, for “an active law enforcement incident involving a suspect believed to be armed.”

Schools had been positioned on precautionary lockdowns as officers looked for the suspect, in accordance to NLVPD.

“At this time, the situation has been contained and there is no known ongoing threat to the public,” police wrote in an electronic mail to News 3. “The investigation remains active and additional details are still being gathered.”

No additional particulars had been instantly confirmed.
