Live updates: California governor’s debate at Pomona College

At one level Watts, surprisingly, let Hilton begin asking Becerra questions straight about Becerra’s said plan to demand insurance coverage firms step up within the state, stand by clients and pay them when main fires happen. Hilton questioned the governor’s energy to make such calls for, arguing the state must make it much less dangerous for insurance coverage firms to put in writing insurance policies, not merely drive them to cowl folks.

Becerra mentioned if you declare a state of emergency, you have got extraordinary powers, and that California cannot “just let the insurance companies run over us.”

Hilton scoffed, saying California cannot have a governor “who doesn’t understand how the government works.”

Becerra mentioned California does not want “a talking head” from Fox News to inform us how authorities works.
