Laufey renews global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music
Laufey has renewed her global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music.
The Icelandic-Chinese artist — a two-time Grammy Award winner and, based on the Recording Academy, the youngest-ever recipient of Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album (for Bewitchedin 2024) — first signed with the writer in August 2023.
Since then, Laufey has launched two additional albums, gained a second Grammy (for A Matter of Timeon the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2026), and is at present in the course of a sold-out world tour spanning 22 nations.
A deluxe version of A Matter of Time —titled A Matter of Time: The Final Hour — is due on April 10that includes 4 new tracks. Laufey can even make her literary debut later this month with a youngsters’s e-book, Mei Mei The Bunnyout April 21 through Penguin Random House.

Background
Raised between ReykjavikIceland, and Washington, D.C.Laufey learned piano and cello as a child before studying at Berklee College of Music. There, she wrote her debut EP, 2021‘s Typical of Mewhose lead single Street by Street debuted at No. 1 on Icelandic radio.
Laufey signed a recordings deal with AWAL —the Sony Music Group-owned label—in 2021and extends that partnership in November 2023 following the discharge of Bewitchedwhich broke the record for the biggest debut for a jazz album on Spotify.
Her third album, A Matter of Timewas released in August 2025 via Vingolf Recordings and AWALdebuting at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Jazz Albums chart. The album won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 68th Grammy Awards in February, beating out nominees including Lady Gaga, Elton John and Brandi Carlileand Barbra Streisand.
The company says Laufey you have accumulated more than 8 billion global streams to date and a social media audience of over 25 million.
Her list of accessories includes a Forbes 30 Under 30 designation, a spot on TIME‘s 2025 Women of the Year list, and the Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Falcon — one of Iceland’s highest state honors — which she received in January 2026.
The renewal adds to a run of publishing signings and extensions at Warner Chappell Music.
