Caitlin Clark lastly discovered his shot Friday night time towards the Washington Mystics, hitting 5 3-pointers within the fourth quarter, together with the game-tying shot with 1.7 seconds left to power time beyond regulation.

That, in itself, could possibly be the story. Clark has stunk this season from past the arc, however she discovered her shot when it mattered most.

The game-tying three was a factor of magnificence. Frankly, the WNBA must be foaming on the mouth right now. Forget the noise. They want Clark to be good. Believe me, I’ve seen the numbers.

When she’s hitting buzzer beaters and going viral on social media, it is a fever dream for the WNBA and the oldsters in advertising. Nobody else within the league comes even shut.

Yeah, the execs LOVE that. Trust me.

Anyway, that is not the story right now. The Fever went on to lose in time beyond regulation. That’s additionally not the story.

Instead, the story is that this… odd… response by Fever coach Stephanie White after the sport when requested particularly about Clark’s late-game heroics.

Take a glance:

This looks like basic ‘coach converse’ to me

“I thought our whole group showed resilience in that rally we showed the ability to make tough shots,” White mentioned. “We showed the ability to make tough shots. We had some really good time and execution moments, offensively and defensively… we just have to have more of it consistently.”

So, everyone seems to be mad at this response right now. Social media is a cesspool, and the pitchforks are aimed toward Stephanie White proper now.

Fans are accusing her of snubbing Clark. Ignoring Clark. Downplaying her fourth quarter effort, which included 17 factors. She completed with 32 factors and 7 3s, alongside the way in which.

Not unhealthy!

I might go on and on. It’s a massacre over on Elon’s app right now. Everyone is fired up.

Personally…I do not actually see an issue with the reply. It’s coach converse 101. Some of us say White has never liked Caitlin Clark. Perhaps. I do not know that for certain. Nobody does.

FEVER COACH STEPHANIE WHITE REVEALS SHE WAS FINED OVER APPARENT CRITICISM OF WNBA OFFICIATING

But I’m unsure what she’s purported to say right here that we do not already know? We all noticed Clark hit the game-tying shot. We noticed what she did within the fourth quarter. We know she’s a terrific participant. Do followers really want the coach to vindicate them by stating the apparent? Seems petty to me.

Coaches are ALWAYS hardest on the perfect participant. Again, it is teaching 101. It comes with the territory. What’s that outdated quote from “Remember the Titans?”

“You wanna be a star, you’d better give me a star effort.”

Feel like that is what we’ve right here between Caitlin Clark and Stephanie White. The Fever misplaced. Clark, for nearly as good as she was within the fourth quarter, nonetheless shot 10 of 28 from the sphere. Frankly, I’d hope Caitlin Clark had little interest in getting her roses after a loss, irrespective of how good she was down the stretch.
