Eagles trade with Cowboys, pick Makai Lemon at No. 20 in NFL draft
The Philadelphia Eagles made a trade with the rival division Dallas Cowboys on Thursday evening, choosing USC broad receiver Makai Lemon with the No. 20 pick in the NFL draft.
The Cowboys acquired the No. 23 pick and two fourth-round picks (Nos. 114 and 137) to Philadelphia for the twentieth pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick.
The addition of Lemon is one more indication that AJ Brown is more likely to be traded at some level. Sources informed ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Brown is more likely to be traded to the New England Patriots on or after June 1. The two sides have mentioned a deal, however neither have been prepared to decide to it till after June 1, when Brown’s $40 million wage cap cost could be break up between this 12 months and subsequent.
The Eagles even have signed free agent broad receivers Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore and bought broad receiver Dontayvion Wicks in a trade with the Green Bay Packers this offseason.
Lemon had 79 receptions for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns final season to earn All-America honors. He had 137 catches for two,008 yards and 14 touchdowns in his school profession.
