Afrika Bambaataa Dead At 68: Report

Afrika Bambaataathe pioneering Hip-Hop DJ thought of by many to be a founding father of the tradition, has died. He was 68.

On Thursday (April 9), AllHipHop.com reported that Bambaataa, born Lance Taylor, died whereas hospitalized. The Rev. Dr. Kurtis Blow Walker, Executive Director of the Hip Hop Alliance, issued a press release acknowledging his passing.

Because of loss of life has not been shared.

Bambataa was a member of the notorious Black Spades gang in The Bronx, and would finally create the Universal Zulu Nation, which might subsequently assist unfold Hip-Hop tradition throughout the globe. Known for his deep file crates, his breakbeat choice was well-known and he would grow to be an artist as a part of the Soulsonic Force. The group’s single “Planet Rock” was certainly one of Hip-Hop music’s earliest hits.

However. Bambaataa’s status took a large hit in 2016, when he was accused by multiple men of child sex abuse relationship again to the 1970’s. It was alleged that Bambaataa’s heinous predilections had been widespread, although whispered, data to folks round him. The Zulu Nation dissociated itself from Bambaataa, who shortly turned persona non grata within the tradition because the accusations and judgments piled up.
