Sam Smith Takes Flight in Dramatic, Winged Feather Look
Sam Smith is bringing the physique store to the 2026 Met Gala.
The “Unholy” singer appeared like a literal murals as they walked the steps at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art for the “Costume Art”-themed gala May 4.
For the night time’s “Fashion Is Art” gown code, Sam donned a black Erté showgirl-inspired mermaid gown full with a fuzzy collar and sleeves that appeared like wings. The 33-year-old, whose outfit was designed by their accomplice Christian Cowanaccomplished the look with a tall feathered headpiece.

And Sam wasn’t simply there to strut up the Met steps: The musician was additionally a part of the host committee for the night, which was co-chaired by Beyonce, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour.
The occasion marked Sam’s second flip on the Met Gala after making their debut in 2024, carrying a design by Christian impressed by the night time’s “The Garden of Time” theme: a black tuxedo with a sheer chiffon skirt overlay and a gold rose pinning the jacket closed.
