God Of War’s New Lead Character Has Gamers Torn

Besides perhaps the reveal that god of war was uprooting from its Greek mythology foundations and planting new seeds within the Norse mythology’s 9 realms, the way forward for Santa Monica’s god of battle franchise has arguably by no means been extra thrilling than it’s now. It is fascinating that the Norse video games might be tailored as an Amazon Prime Video collection starring Sons of Anarchy‘s Ryan Hurstfor instance, and it’s anybody’s guess the place Atreus/Loki might journey to in his pilgrimage, assuming that his expedition is chronicled in an Atreus-led god of battle sport.

Plus, recent god of war rumors and leaks declare {that a} brand-new mainline sport will characteristic one character, specifically, whose identify gamers have been stunned to listen to. No official announcement has been made concerning this hypothetical sport, and but followers have already shared their opinions on this character, who is sort of near Kratos and Atreus, and what they consider probably taking part in as them in a brand new god of battle entry.

If the rumors and leaks develop into reliable, a brand new sport’s protagonist could possibly be god of war‘s Faye, played by Deborah Ann Woll. And, in accordance with Twitter/X consumer Rino, it seems as if Faye’s sport could possibly be introduced within the following weeks, particularly as a “one more thing” stinger throughout a rumored State of Play airing someday earlier than Summer Game Fest on June 5, 2026.

Rumors compounding on each other like this threat toppling and collapsing if even one is debunked, and but it might not be wholly stunning if PlayStation did have a State of Play scheduled for late May or early June to compete with the reveals that might be shared at Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase. User Marathonian is totally optimistic: “If this really is the ‘one more thing’ at the next State of Play, that would be a big surprise.”

This identical consumer can be open to a Faye sport, writing, “Faye spin-off would actually be fire. We barely know anything about her story, so this has a lot of potential.”That stated, not everybody desires a Faye sport. User Lewis Barrett is extra fascinated by an Atreus spin-off or seeing Kratos’ story proceed, as an illustration, whereas consumer warrior lady is adamantly in opposition to the concept of a Faye sport: “Nobody asked for a game with her, what is Sony smoking.”

User dontcallmewave provides a refreshingly impartial opinion, explaining that they perceive why some followers is likely to be dissatisfied if there actually is a Faye god of battle sport in improvement: “On one hand, no one asked for a game centered around Faye. But on the other hand, no one asked for a game about Kratos as a struggling single dad, and that turned out to be awesome.” As this consumer states, solely time will inform how a Faye sport would possibly take form or how adored it might really be.
