Patriots’ Mike Vrabel says he’s met with team, had ‘some difficult conversations’ after photos with Dianna Russini emerged
per week after NFL insider Dianna Russini resigned from her post at The Athletic within the wake of photos surfacing that pictured her with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at a luxurious lodge in ArizonaVrabel spoke to reporters Tuesday to deal with the state of affairs.
It was the primary time he’s spoken in regards to the matter since issuing a statement to the New York Post’s Page Sixwhich, on April 7, revealed photographs of Russini and Vrabel holding arms, hugging and hanging poolside.

“I’ve had some difficult conversations with people that I care about, with my family, the organization, the coaches, the players,” said Vrabel.who earned his second AP NFL Coach of the Year award final season whereas main the Patriots to a Super Bowl look.
“Those have been positive and productive. We believe in order to be successful on and off the field, you have to make good decisions. That includes me, that starts with me. We never want our actions to negatively affect the team. We never want to be the cause of a distraction. Those are comments and questions that I’ve answered for the team and with the team. We’ll keep those private and to ourselves.”
Notably, NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy told ESPN’s Ben Strauss that the league is not reviewing whether Vrabel violated the NFL’s personal conduct policywhich states that gamers, coaches and executives should not have interaction in “conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in” the NFL.

Vrabel began his Tuesday assertion by thanking the assembled media for his or her persistence in what he described as a “personal and private matter” for each him and everybody concerned.
“I know that that’s not easy for you, and I respect that, and I appreciate your efforts in doing so,” he stated. “I understand I could have addressed you guys sooner, but it was important for me to have a conversation with the players, which I did yesterday, very candidly, as we began our offseason program, which everyone is excited to be a part of.”
Vrabel made it clear that it was by no means his intention to have Patriots gamers meet with the media earlier than he did. That’s why he organized to speak to reporters Tuesday, he defined.
“I also don’t want to take away from the draft, the weekend of the draft. This is an important time for us, our organization and the excitement and the joy that those players are going to have that we bring onto our football team,” Vrabel stated. “They’re starting an amazing journey, one that should be celebrated as we welcome them onto our team.”

Vrabel, now embarking on his third season on the helm of a franchise he gained three rings with as a participant, wrapped his assertion Tuesday by saying that he’s “going to attack each day with humility and focus.”
“What I can promise you is that my family, this organization, the team, the staff, the coaches, everybody, our fans most importantly, will get the best version of me moving forward,” he stated.
“That’s what I know, and I’m excited to do that.”
