United Flight diverted to Pittsburgh International Airport after possible security concern

A spokesperson for the Allegheny County Airport Authority confirmed to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that United Flight 2092 from O’Hare to LaGuardia was diverted to Pittsburgh simply earlier than midday following a possible security concern reported by the airline crew. FBI Pittsburgh will provide further updates as appropriate due to the ongoing nature of this investigation.”Following FBI Pittsburgh’s assertion, the Allegheny County Police Bomb Squad stated its EOD and K9s carried out a sweep of the “plane, passengers, and luggage with negative results.” The county bomb squad stated the incident has since been cleared. PIT airport officers stated passengers have been rebooked and are on one other plane. They will proceed to their vacation spot. Pittsburgh International Airport stated in a press release that “safety and security are always a top priority,” additional saying “Crews and law enforcement have cleared the scene at PIT” and that the “aircraft screened negative.” It is unclear what officers had been in search of to board the airplane.
