Woman killed after crash involving Uber driver on Northwest Side, SAPD says


The driver by chance accelerated whereas turning and struck a girl who was promoting on the curb, police say

SAN ANTONIO – A lady is useless after she was struck by a car whereas promoting with an indication on the Northwest Side, in response to the San Antonio Police Department.

The crash occurred simply after 1 pm Saturday within the 1500 block of Bandera Road.

On Sunday, an SAPD preliminary report recognized the girl as Darlene Ibarra, 35.

According to SAPD, an Uber driver was touring southbound on East Quill Drive after they tried to make a flip westbound onto Bandera.

The driver then misplaced management of their car and went over the sidewalk, police stated. SAPD on the scene stated the driver by chance accelerated whereas turning.

Ibarra was standing on the nook of Bandera Road and was struck by the car, SAPD stated. She was pronounced useless on the scene.

Police on the scene instructed KSAT that Ibarra was promoting on the curb with an indication.

The rideshare driver is cooperating with authorities and isn’t anticipated to face any fees, police stated on the scene.

SAPD’s investigation is ongoing.
