Who’s in command of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup race entering WM Phoenix Open?
It should be a volatile week at the WM Phoenix Open, and we’re not talking about the crazies at the par-3 16th hole at the TPC Scottsdale.
The leaders on this week’s FedEx Cup points list could be in for a reshuffling based on the results of the tournament. Chris Gotterup is in first after a tie for 18th at the Farmers Insurance Open, breaking a tie with the idle Scottie Scheffler for first.
Scottie Scheffler, playing his tee shot at the par-3 16th hole of the TPC Scottsdale on Feb. 8, 2025, is looking for his third victory in the WM Phoenix Open this week.
Scheffler, who did not play at Torrey Pines, is in a third-place tie with Farmers winner Justin Rose.

Ryan Gerard, who has finished second, tied for second and tied for 11th this season, is in second, only four points behind Gotterup and 42 ahead of Scheffler and Rose.
Gotterup and Scheffler are in the field this week. Gerard and Rose are not. With 20 of the top 25 players at the TPC Scottsdale, expect a lot of movement.
