Shooting investigation involving police prompts Flagstaff neighborhood to shelter in place

The Flagstaff Police Department is asking a Flagstaff neighborhood to shelter in place due to an “active officer involved shooting investigation.”
The department posted on their Facebook that the public should avoid the area north of West Route 66 between South Thompson Street and North Mark Lane.
If already in the neighborhood, residents should shelter in place.
Police are expecting a law enforcement presence in the area for the next several hours.
There is currently no threat to the public.
The Page Police Department posted to their Facebook that “a police helicopter has crashed near the incident location.” Page police also said in their post that a shooting suspect has been taken into custody.
12News has reached out to Flagstaff police and other agencies to confirm this information.
