As the years go by, the Colorado Rockies’ decision to sign Kris Bryant to a seven-year, $182 million contract has continued to be a disappointment.

This will translate into the 2026 season, after the Rockies placed Bryant on the 60-day injured list. He will miss the first 57 games of the 2026 season, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported.
Colorado has been one of the worst teams in baseball ever since the team traded Nolan Arenado to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2021. Since then, the Rockies have struck out on the prospects they traded for, and players that were supposed to be franchise stars have been quite the opposite.
A summary of Kris Bryant’s Rockies career
After getting traded from the Chicago Cubs to the San Francisco Giants in his contract-expiring year in 2021, Bryant inked his $182 million deal with the Rockies in 2022.

Fans have hoped that Bryant could bring the same MVP talent that helped lead the Cubs to a World Series in 2016, but this hasn’t been the case.
A long list of injuries that include a rib contusion, a broken finger, foot problems, and, most notably, a back injury that has been a problem since 2022, will now translate into his age-34 season.
Since coming to the Rockies, Bryant has played in just 170 games over the past four years. He hasn’t played in more than half of a season since his contract year in 2021.
Reports are saying that his back issues have translated into affecting his everyday life.
