Rising Star (and Best Actor) Nominee Robert Aramayo Arrives at the BAFTAs
While nearly each identify in the Best Actor class at the BAFTAs this night could also be acquainted—Timothee Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, Michael B. Jordan, and Jesse Plemons—there’s one newcomer in the class: Robert Aramayo, nominated for his efficiency in I Swear. “I was literally doing the dishes!” I’ve recalls of the nominations. “I had it up on YouTube and just couldn’t believe it when I saw my name.”
Aramayo, 33, can be considered one of the night’s Rising Star nominees. “I’m absolutely knackered, I won’t lie to you,” he stated. “It’s a bit of a mental time. You know when you’re at this point in your life where people are just like, ‘What about that? And what about some of this as well? Can you handle that?’ At what point is your plate a bit too full? “I guess I’m going to find out.” For the evening, Aramayo chose a classic tuxedo, and accessorized with a small brooch pinned to his lapel.

While he is named a Rising Star, he’s no stranger to working in film and television: He played a young Eddard “Ned” Stark in game of Thronesstarred in Netflix’s Behind Her Eyes as Rob, and currently is in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Ace Elrond. I Swear, a Scottish drama film, tells the true story of John Davidson, who campaigns for Tourette’s syndrome awareness.
“I’ve grown really close to John, so I felt a massive pressure to get it right,” Aramayo said of portraying Davidson in the film. “I felt incredibly supported by the crew and everyone involved who had lived with Tourette’s and been so forthcoming with their stories.”
