Rick Bowness goes off after loss to Alex Ovechkin, Capitals

The Columbus Blue Jackets are out of the playoffs regardless of an unbelievable mid-season run within the race. When they fired Dean Evason, they were in last place within the Metropolitan Division with a 19-19-7 report. Rick Bowness took over, and the Blue Jackets instantly jumped into the playoff race. They went 19-3-4 of their first 26 video games beneath Bowness, however hit the skids late to fall out of the playoffs. Bowness went off on his gamers’ effort in the end 11 video games of the season.

“CBJ coach Rick Bowness just went on a post-game tirade for the ages. Ripped into players for their shameful efforts tonight and down the stretch. He was red-faced and spitting mad,” The Athletic’s Aaron Portzline reported.

That kind of effort,” Bowness stated, per Portzline.

The Blue Jackets do have a gaggle of free brokers they will let stroll to change the tradition. That contains captain Boone Jenner, who has performed all 13 of his NHL seasons in Columbus. Charlie Coyle and Mason Marchment may even be free brokers on July 1.

Bowness signed a contract that took him through the end of this season. So if common supervisor Don Waddell is just not a fan of those feedback, will probably be the tip of Bowness’s time in Columbus. But if he’s seeing what the coach sees, it could possibly be a tumultuous offseason in Columbus.
