Puka Nacua Shades Rams Fans in Video, Says There Aren’t ‘Too Many Home Games’ at SoFi Stadium
Los Angeles Rams superstar wide receiver Puka Nacua joked Friday about the less-than-ideal home atmosphere at SoFi Stadium.
Appearing on Real Ones: The League with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, Nacua discussed the fact that the Rams and Niners are set to meet in the first-ever NFL regular season game in Australia next season:
Warner noted that the Rams will be the designated home team for the Australia game, to which Nacua responded, “Honestly, at SoFi there’s not too many home games.”
Joining in on the joke, Warner said, “Honestly, that’s a blow to us. Let’s be real.”
Since moving back to LA from St. Louis in 2016, the Rams have experienced enormous success, reaching the playoffs seven times and the Super Bowl twice. They also concluded the 2021 season with the second Super Bowl win in franchise history.
Coinciding with Nacua’s entry into the league, the Rams have made three consecutive playoff appearances, and they reached the NFC Championship Game this season, falling to the Seattle Seahawks.
LA has never been known for having a rabid football fanbase, and some of that can perhaps be attributed to the fact that the city did not have an NFL team from 1995 to 2015.
Now, Los Angeles has two teams in the Rams and Chargers, and they share SoFi Stadium.
The splitting of a stadium and allegiances hasn’t slow itself to the type of fan support that many NFL teams benefit from, and Nacua didn’t hold back in expressing his thoughts about it.
