NAMPA, Idaho— This story originally appeared in the Idaho Press.
The Ford Idaho Center will be a raucous scene come Friday and Saturday as the Professional Bull Riders Pendleton Whiskey Velocity Tour (PWVT) makes a return to Nampa.
Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue was asked to speak Tuesday morning about the spectacle of bull riding. It’s clear he loves watching the sport.
“It’s exciting from start to finish,” Donahue said. “I mean, there’s not really any downtime. … It is the most dangerous sport in the world, and these guys, they’re professional athletes. They’re riding some of the greatest bulls in existence.”
For people who have never been, Donahue added a few more words.
“It is thrilling from the minute it starts to the minute it ends, there’s nothing like it,” Donahue said. “It’s a very dangerous, high-energy, and thrilling thing to watch.”
The Friday show starts at 8 pm, and the Saturday show starts at 7 pm, according to a news release about the event.
“Idaho fans can once again expect the electrifying energy and edge-of-your-seat action that has made the world’s top bull riding organization’s annual visit a fan favorite,” the release states.

The sport’s top bull riders will fight it out for Velocity Global points, the release states. While it’s mid-season, this event is the 14th of the 26 events of the PWVT regular season, so the points to be had at the Ford Idaho Center are “crucial as riders battle for position in the standings.”
Velocity Global points help riders in the standings and decide which Professional Bull Riders are added to the “Unleash the Beast” tour, and in addition to that, determine qualifications for the PBR World Finals in May.
Fans in attendance for the two-day event will see the ranked bulls — toughest to ride because of high buck-off ability, how powerful they are and their high-scoring potential — in the sport and the league’s top bull riders pit against each other.
“(They’re) all determined to punch their ticket to the PWVT Finals in May 2026,” the release states.
As the PBR Unleash the Beast tour played out in 2025 in Nampa, during the “penultimate event of the regular season, Dalton Kasel, from Muleshoe, Texas, delivered a perfect 3-for-3 weekend to seal the deal as the 2025 PBR Nampa Champion.”
“(Kasel went) on to have a red-hot season finishing No. 2 in the world standings,” the release states.
Tickets for the show are on sale. They are available at FordIdahoCenter.com, or at PBR.com, the release states. PBR Rewards members can also call 800-732-1727.
Ticket prices range from $28 to $124.
Many tickets for Friday were still available as of Tuesday afternoon. According to the venue’s website, “not many left” were available for Saturday’s show.
For people who want even better seats, they can purchase PBR Elite Seats for an “exclusive VIP experience,” the release states. Those tickets offer premium seats, personal on-site concierge at the PBR fan loyalty booth, and other perks. To obtain those elite seats, call 800-732-1727 or visit Ticketmaster.com.
