Pacers Carlisle on Haliburton’s latest health issue: ‘It’s a very painful thing’

INDIANAPOLIS — Pacers All-Star level guard Tyrese Haliburton has a further health setback on high of the proper Achilles tendon tear that’s conserving him out for the season.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle stated Haliburton — who has been current for the overwhelming majority of the Pacers’ video games this season regardless of his damage — has come down with a case of shingles and won’t be with the group for 2-3 weeks.

“It’s a very painful thing,” Carlisle stated. “…He will make a full recovery, but this happened over the last few days. He was meeting us in DC and had some odd symptoms and he came back here. That’s what’s happening with him. We certainly wish him a speedy recovery. It’s a unique case and a unique situation, but I talked to him a few times and he’s always in a good mood, so he’ll get through it.”

Haliburton has been forward of schedule in its restoration and has shared video of him not only working out but playing pick-up basketball games. The Pacers stated previous to the season that there was no probability of him returning to motion within the 2025-26 season. This should not dramatically affect his rehabilitation, however it can function a transient, uncomfortable detour in his restoration season.

Haliburton suffered the Achilles tendon tear in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
