No. 1 UConn to Face Villanova Wednesday


STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn ladies’s basketball workforce (27-0, 16-0 BIG EAST) takes on Villanova (21-5, 14-3) on Wednesday at 7 pm in Finneran Pavilion in Villanova, Pa. The sport will air on peacock/NBC Sports Network and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (The River 105.9).

With a win Wednesday, UConn will clinch at the very least a share of the 2025-26 BIG EAST common season title. The Huskies have received each BIG EAST common season championship since rejoining the league in 2020.

Including BIG EAST Tournament video games, the Huskies have received 63 straight league video games.

graduate scholar Azzi Fudd had 25 factors and sophomore Sarah Strong scored 22 as UConn beat Marquette, 71-56, in Milwaukee on Saturday. For the second straight week, Fudd was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday. In two wins final week, Fudd averaged 22.0 factors, 3.0 rebounds and three.0 steals per sport whereas taking pictures 54.5% from the sector and 66.7% from past the arc.
