“Welcome (back) to Jurassic Park.”

Xfinity – an American telecommunications company – leaned into 1990s nostalgia with its Super Bowl commercial with a theme around the original “Jurassic Park” movie from 199. The ad features some technology that will be talked about during the Super Bowl 60 matchup between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, too.

Were the creators “so worried with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should?”

We’ll allow it. Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are among the stars from the original film who reprise their roles in the commercial.

“This Sunday, while millions of people watch the Big Game on NBC and Peacock, we’ll be reimagining one of the most iconic moments in movie history,” Comcast Chief Growth Officer, Connectivity and Platforms, Jon Gieselman, said via Comcast.

Inside Xfinity ‘Jurassic Park’ Super Bowl commercial

The Xfinity commercial uses several scenes from “Jurassic Park” – but instead of the park shutting down, it is saved by the Xfinity broadband internet connections. A many different sequence unfolds, and there are countless references to the 1993 film.

The commercial uses digital de-aging on the stars of the movie in the commercial to alter their appearance, which could be a trending topic when the ad runs on Super Bowl Sunday. Watch the commercial here to see for yourself.

Which ‘Jurassic Park’ stars are in the Xfinity commercial?

Sam Neill

Neill played Dr. Alan Grant, a paleontologist and the main character in the original movie. Neill is 78 years old now.

Laura Dern

Dern played paleontologist Ellie Sattler in the original movie and also appeared in “Jurassic Park III” in 2001 and “Jurassic World Dominion” in 2022.

Jeff Goldblum

Goldblum plays Dr. Ian Malcom in the original movie and three sequels. Goldblum is 73 years old.

Samuel L. Jackson

Jackson played Ray Arnold in the original film and had the memorable line: “Hold on to your butts.” Jackson, 77, remains a popular actor who has won

Richard Attenborough

Attenborough played John Hammond, the creator of the park in the movie. Attenborough died in 2014.

Jurassic Park ranks No. 38 on that list, and sequels “Jurassic World” (2015) and “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” rank No. 10 and No. 24, respectively. “Titanic” (1997) and “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace” (1999) were ranked No. 4 and No. 50, respectively.

“Jurassic Park” won three Academy Awards, including Best Visual Effects, Best Sound and Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing. The most iconic scene – when Grant, Sattler and Malcom see the dinosaurs for the first time – was ranked No. 27 among Best Movie Moments of all time by IGN.com.

There have been six sequels to the original “Jurassic Park.”
