Heavenly Ski Resort to reopen to skiers this weekend
One of Tahoe’s largest ski areas, closed for practically two weeks, will reopen to snowboarding and snowboarding this weekend.
But a spate of chilly temperatures and storms this month, together with a burst of two toes of snowfall final weekend, has allowed the South Lake Tahoe resort to reopen for 2 ultimate days: Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19.
In a Friday announcement, Heavenly known as it “an unexpected encore” to the season and described the occasion as “a rare reopening and a final chance for a thank-you lap to celebrate Heavenly’s 70th season anniversary.”
The solely mountain entry would be the gondola, which picks up in downtown South Lake Tahoe close to the Nevada border. Terrain will probably be restricted, the resort stated.
Most Tahoe ski areas are closed, however Palisades, Mt. Rose and Kirkwood are remaining open by means of this weekend.
