Hawks’ Jalen Johnson exits win with first-quarter hip injury

ATLANTA — Hawks ahead Jalen Johnson left Tuesday evening’s 119-98 win over the Washington Wizards with a left hip flexor injury.

Johnson was injured within the first quarter and dominated out after being evaluated by the coaching workers.

“There was enough there not to send him back in the game,” coach Quin Snyder stated.

Johnson, who earned his first All-Star Game berth this season, shall be re-evaluated earlier than the Hawks face the Wizards once more Thursday to finish back-to-back video games in Atlanta. It’s not recognized if he’ll miss any extra taking part in time.

Johnson completed with 5 factors, three rebounds and two steals in about 5½ minutes in opposition to the Wizards. He got here into the evening averaging 23.4 factors, 10.8 rebounds and eight.1 assists.

His absence cleared the best way for Jonathan Kuminga to attain a season-high 27 factors in his Hawks debut. Kuminga was acquired from Golden State on the commerce deadline.
