NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. – South African Garrick Higgo was penalized two strokes for arriving late to his first spherical tee time at the PGA Championship, the PGA of America introduced.
Higgo was scheduled to tee off at 7:18 am alongside Michael Brennan and Shaun Micheel. As a end result, Higgo made a double bogey on the primary gap. I made a birdie on the third gap to get again to 1-over via eight holes.
Higgo, a two-time PGA TOUR winner, is making his fourth PGA Championship look. He’s looking out for his first top-40 end in any main.
According to Rule 5.3 within the Rules of Golf, a participant is assessed a two-stroke penalty when arriving not more than 5 minutes late to their tee time. Any participant arriving greater than 5 minutes late is topic to disqualification.
