DCA concourse evacuated over suspicious package – NBC4 Washington
Passengers evacuated to a concourse at Reagan National Airport outdoors Washington, DC, on Thursday morning as authorities investigated a suspicious package.
The suspicious package was present in a break room on the airport round 9 am, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) stated.
Airport police established a security perimeter and cleared passengers from the D Concourse, MWAA stated.
Police are investigating the merchandise. Officials did not say why the package was thought-about suspicious.
Concourse D is in Terminal 2 and serves American Airlines.
The evacuation comes as Transportation Security Administration staff go with out paychecks throughout a partial government shutdown affecting the Department of Homeland Security.
