UNM appoints New Mexico native Ryan Berryman as athletics director


University of New Mexico President Garnett S. Stokes introduced Ryan Berryman as Vice President and Director of Athletics, eradicating his interim title.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – University of New Mexico President Garnett S. Stokes introduced Ryan Berryman as Vice President and Director of Athletics, eradicating his interim title.

Berryman, a New Mexico native and three-time UNM graduate, is without doubt one of the youngest athletics administrators in Division I. He can also be the primary Lobo alumnus to guide the division within the fashionable period.

“This search confirmed what Lobo Athletics has in Ryan Berryman,” Stokes mentioned. “He was evaluated against an outstanding field of candidates, and he stood above them.”

During his two-month interim interval, Berryman led efforts for enhancements at University Stadium and secured a 10-year naming rights partnership with Nusenda Credit Union.

Berryman started his profession as a scholar supervisor for the boys’s basketball program in 2012, contributing to back-to-back Mountain West Championships.
