Phillies receive trade rumors update regarding Bryce Harper after his performance, actions during WBC
The Philadelphia Phillies and their franchise star Bryce Harper have been butting heads for some time now, however it did not appear so unhealthy as to name for a divorce. However, with Harper’s efficiency and antics on the World Baseball Classic, it won’t be too far-fetched now.
FanSided’s Jake Elman he actually believes so, as he thinks due to these issues, Harper’s truly boosted his trade worth, and will make him accessible this summer season.

“Enough has been said about the tension following the Phillies’ 2025 NLDS exit. However, Harper’s much-criticized comments on the WBC not measuring up to the Olympics only furthered the narrative that he is becoming an unfiltered, grouchy slugger. We’re a long way from the “That’s a clown question, bro” version of Harper, and the Phillies likely know that by now. Let’s be honest: If the Phillies made Harper available this summer, at least one contender would show interest. Even if his days of playing the outfield are behind him, Harper still has a powerful power stroke — he had 59 extra-base hits in 580 plate appearances last year — and continues to torment opposing pitchers by forcing deep counts. In other words, Harper’s attitude might actually make a change of scenery more plausible,” Elman wrote.
This past season, Harper slashed .261/.357/.487/.844 with 32 doubles, 27 home runs, and 75 RBI in 132 games. He’s still got a lot of life in his bat, and could be a good first baseman for any team that needs one as well.
The drawback comes with his contract, as he is owed of hundreds of millions over the next six years. However, a top contender with a fat wallet won’t really care about that.
Hopefully the two sides work it out, as Harper is a staple of Philly’s roster. However, if they don’t, a Harper trade could define the season.
