Nationally-Ranked Furman Too Much for Women’s Tennis Saturday

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Going up towards a proficient Furman University squad, the Belmont University girls’s tennis group was swept on the highway Saturday on the Paladins’ Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, South Carolina. After dropping the doubles level, the Bruins (1-9) have been unable to win greater than 4 mixed video games in any match throughout their singles lineup.
Nationally-ranked Furman (7-3) took a 1-0 lead within the match with a 6-1 win on the prime doubles spot and a 6-2 triumph at No. 2 doubles. Senior Libbie Hamilton and freshman Ketevan Jeladze trailed the Paladins’ Lily Doherty and Macy Hitchcock 4-2 at third doubles.
Furman’s prime doubles duo of Lillie Murphy and Elle Warren are ranked thirty fourth within the nation in response to the newest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings.
Redshirt freshman Savannah Webster fell in a 6-1, 6-3 affair on the No. 1 singles spot to the Paladins’ Warren, it was probably the most video games any Bruin gained.
Furman was convincingly victorious in straight units on all six singles courts.
