‘Unbelievable’: Kemba Walker reflects on growing talents of Charlotte Hornets

As Kemba Walker was taking part in his final season of skilled basketball in Monaco, he acquired a name from his agent.

Jeff Peterson needed to know if Walker had any curiosity in becoming a member of the teaching workers that Charles Lee was assembling.

Walker mentioned he had by no means thought of teaching. But he knew that his time on the courtroom was winding down, and this might hold him near the sport and produce him again dwelling.

“I didn’t think I would ever want to be a coach,” Walker mentioned. “Especially as a player, I’m like, yeah, I don’t want to be a coach. Coaches get on my nerves.”

But when Lee was employed, Walker joined his workers as a participant enhancement coach.

“My favorite part is having the opportunity to still be on the court, teaching guys moves, or putting guys through drills, or even just getting the opportunity to still get out there and play,” he mentioned.

He frolicked creating the talents of gamers like LaMelo Ball, Kon Kneuppel, and Brandon Miller.

While the work took sacrifice from him and the gamers, Walker mentioned he has been glad to look at their talents develop.
