Days after Israeli and US air strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Israel mentioned it had focused the constructing the place high Iranian clerics would meet to decide on his successor. Israel’s Prime Minister says the purpose of this battle is to get rid of the spiritual regime that has dominated Iran for nearly half a century. Many of Iran’s potential successors have been killed in the assaults, resulting in inquiries to what and who may come subsequent. We hear from NPR correspondents overlaying the White House and the Middle East.

And in saying the US assaults on Iran, President Trump referred to as on Iranian safety forces to defect and for Iranians to take over the authorities. We hear from folks inside Iran to gauge the chance of that occuring.
