Source: Cardinals’ Brissett guaranteed $15.5M in reworked deal

The Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Jacoby Brissett have reached settlement on a reworked contract that may pay him $15.5 million guaranteed this season with the prospect to make $21 million with incentives, a supply informed ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Sunday.

Brissett, Arizona’s presumptive starter below new coach Mike LaFleur, had skipped many of the staff’s voluntary offseason program and was a hold-in for obligatory minicamp as he requested a restructuring of his contract. However, he participated in the staff’s first coaching camp observe Thursday.

Brissett was in the second 12 months of a two-year deal that was scheduled to pay him $4.88 million in base wage. No new years had been added to his contract with Sunday’s restructuring, so he’s nonetheless scheduled to turn into a free agent after this season.

He completed final season with 3,366 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 14 video games (12 begins).
