Riley Green Gets Candid about His “Troubled” Character on ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff

Riley Green is becoming a member of the Yellowstone universe, and nation music followers could not be extra excited. But, not a lot was revealed about Garrett, the character he performs on Marshalstill now.

In the spinoff sequence (which, in contrast to Yellowstonewill air on CBS), Luke Grimes reprises his function as Kayce Dutton, who has left his dwelling on the Yellowstone Ranch to affix the US Marshals. Viewers will see acquainted faces Mo Brings Plenty (Mo), Brecken Merrill (Tate), and Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater) returning to their Yellowstone roles.

How does Riley Green match it? The singer defined his character to ExtraTV. “Garrett is a former Navy SEAL, he was on the teams with Luke. He’s troubled,” Riley stated. “He’s got some issues in what they went through together back in the day. As he shows back up, he’s struggling to deal with all that, and Kayce is constantly trying to help him and let him into that Western lifestyle and what they have out there as Marshals. It’s a pretty vulnerable character. He’s had a tough time, and that was the cool thing for me to try to get into that position and mentally go there. It was a great character for me.”

Fans will need to know if Riley will convey his singing abilities to the present. He teased, “I get to play a little bit. Garrett does play a little guitar.”

Riley credit his good friend Luke Grimes for uplifting him to take the leap into performing. Riley helped the Yellowstone star together with his music (Luke’s new album, redbirdis dropping on April 3), and Luke returned the favor with Riley’s performing profession. “It was a really fun experience for me,” he stated. “Because it’s something I went into somewhat nervous…I don’t get nervous to play shows anymore, I’ve been doing it so long, but this was a brand-new thing for me. It was a big learning curve, and I’m glad they were patient with me.”

The “Worst Way” singer is definitely giving viewers one thing to stay up for when Marshals premieres on March 1.
