Rare ‘Doomsday Fish’ Sighting In Mexico Sparks Concern, Video Goes Viral
Two oarfish, generally often called ‘doomsday fish’, have been reportedly noticed on a seaside in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, sparking widespread concern and fascination on social media. The uncommon deep-sea creatures, which might develop as much as 30 toes in size, are believed to floor earlier than pure disasters, in line with Japanese folklore. She advised her sister “cannot stand anything in pain” and tried to information the fish again into the ocean. “Just watching all these men standing around, and she throws me her phone and her drink and her bag, and she’s like, ‘Hold this,'” Pittenger added.
“I think a lot of people were very hesitant because nobody really knew what it was. It’s not every day that you see that. And I mean, I don’t blame them.”

Oarfish feed on krill and are not often seen close to the floor. It is usually related to impending disasters, corresponding to earthquakes and tsunamis, as a consequence of its deep-sea habitat and uncommon appearances. However, scientists say there isn’t any concrete proof linking these sightings to pure disasters. But nonetheless, the sighting has sparked debate, with some viewing it as an ominous signal and others seeing it as a exceptional pure phenomenon.
“Oarfish are extremely sensitive to seismic activity. Called “doomsday fish” cause sightings of them washed up on beaches mean an inevitable catastrophe like earthquakes or tsunamis,” one consumer wrote within the remark part.
